CRD

Going back to Compassvale Secondary for CRD 2006 just invoked much memories about CRD 2005.

How i miss the times. All the sweat and rushing here and there for the planning. Only 3 weeks before was the committee formed, comprising entirely of inexperienced (then) junior instructors except the chairman. Gruelling times of correspondence, from booking the campsite to deciding the reception food etc.. All the appeals for the help of our batchmates because it was a "batch event", getting ppl to come down to film our very own "VI men". CRD 2005 was not just another event where we're planning for the sake of doing so. We made it a point to imprint our identity mark on it, to make it unique and special. This was a project that all of us really put in our hearts and souls to see it to completion. There are few events which organisers took pride and ownership in their tasks, CRD 2005 was definitely one of them. Being like a lost ship in the ocean, we survived the storm.

CRD 2005, albeit brief, really bonded our batch together. It was a precious moment. VIP 03/05 wasn't the most united bunch of people, but we enjoyed each other's company thoroughly nonetheless. I guess it would be hard to relive those moments again anymore.

Going back to the place once so familiar, which held such precious memories, yet seeing all those new faces who also returned my glances with blank looks, somehow, just gives me a sense of remoteness. I still do feel a longing for Red Cross, and I would want to come back after my As. Wells... I just hope that when I do return, I'll be able to fit back in.

Whether or not you'll be able to fit back in is not so much a question as being able to recognise what everyone else finds soooooo obvious: that you're an accepted member of the family :D
